and an executioner to carry out the death sentence on a criminal. A
military escort left for Belgium, bringing “The Widow” over the World War One battlefields where its troubles began. Within the escort, trouble is brewing between those opposed to the death sentence and those determined to carry out their mission. As the trip goes on, one young soldier who began the journey a patriot with little conscience comes face to face with the horrors of war and finds himself having to replace one of the executioner’s assistants.
